The challenge
A Dacorum based business, The Garden Company, is a well-established, award-winning design and landscaping business specialising in high-end residential and commercial projects. Despite its success, owners James and Helen Scott were concerned their profile didn’t reflect where they wanted to be positioned in the market.
The solution
Over several months, one of our Growth Account Managers provided 12 hours’ free consultancy, reviewing the company’s business operations and growth strategy and, in particular, focusing on marketing and staff development. We carried out research, showing them how other premium, design-focused businesses promote themselves, recommended design agencies, created a digital marketing plan and referred them to Serco for employee skills training.
We also helped the company successfully apply for a £5,000 Get Growing 2 grant that could be used to part-fund the project.
The result
Through our expert consultancy we helped The Garden Company move forward with confidence. The business has fresh new branding and a modern website (thegardenco.co.uk) that better reflects the team’s talent and expertise. The site has a clean, contemporary design, is optimised for SEO and mobile devices, and integrates video content, positioning The Garden Company as a premium design and landscaping business.
Although it’s early days, the new site has seen a 50%-plus year-on-year increase in visitors and a significantly reduced bounce rate.
